About Me
My name is Dan Orina. I started this website as a hobby to help (hopefully) make it easier for people to attain their goal of becoming an electrician. When I graduated from high school, I wanted to be an electrician, but I didn't know what steps to take to make it happen. Internet was still new and very primitive at the time. I decided to work as a trainee for a contractor in my area and build my knowledge through doing it - by experience! I wanted more. I wanted to do my own business one day, but I didn't know how to proceed. Years later, through contacts with other C-10 Electrical contractors, I learned that by going through trade school I can be certified. I worked in the morning and went to school at night. I can tell you it wasn't easy in the beginning. You see, I wasn't really good in math in high school. But that didn't stop me. I surrounded myself with great support group. I asked for help! Don't ever be afraid to ask! People are always (at least most of them) willing to help. In 1988, I took the contractors license test and passed! I was finally a licensed contractor. That was one of the highlights of my life. In the same year, I applied for electrical maintenance position with a major airline and later got hired. I was fortunate to get a job that has good health benefits and good pay. A year later I got married to my beautiful wife. We later had a baby boy and followed by a baby girl. All time greatest achievements! The route I took is just one of the methods described in this website--but the end result will be the same - to become an electrician. Having a plan will make your goal easier to attain.
I can only hope that what I am doing here will create an impact on you! Wishing you great success now and in the future.
