Electrician Apprenticeship In California


Yes! California DO offer electrician apprenticeship! You want to become a California apprentice electrician? You've come to the right place. There are so many schools that offer electrician trade classes here in California, but there is also so much competition.

If you are still in high school it is advisable you take some kind of shop classes. Get familiar with shop tools. If you are out of high school, do an inventory of your skills, but if you are working for a California license contractor... YOU should get certified.

Steps You Should Take

  • Find out if you meet the minimum qualifications for that occupation.

  • Decide whether you can work under the required job conditions, some of which may be hazardous, dirty, uncomfortable or otherwise unpleasant.

  • Apply either directly to an employer in the occupations, the JAC, UAC, the appropriate union, or the California Employment Development Department.

  • Take aptitude or other tests where required.

  • If the committee has a waiting list of applicants, determine whether or not you are sufficiently interested in the occupation to wait for an opening, or whether you should seek other employment.

  • Some committees have applicants find their own employment with a firm which participates in the program.
