Guam Programs offers Electrician Apprenticeship

Guam programs offer apprenticeship electrician training.

If you lived in Guam and want to capitalized on becoming an electrician, apprenticeship program is the way to go.

The College administers Apprenticeship Training Programs sponsored by the Guam Contractors Association, Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association, Guam Technical Institute, and individual employers.

These programs are approved and registered with the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, United States Department of Labor, Washington, D.C.

During the term of apprenticeship, the apprentice learns a craft or trade through formal on-the-job training (OJT) under close supervision of a skilled worker or journey worker and through related classroom instruction at the College.

The beauty of this program is you get paid as you work. In other words, an apprentice works at an actual job setting with an employer during the day and attends related classes at theCollege during the evenings and/or Saturdays.

For an Electrician trade, the requirement to get the certificate of completion is 8000 hours of on-the job training and 585 hours of classroom instructions.

For more information on the Apprenticeship Training Program, contact the Apprenticeship Training Office in Building 300, Room 303, or call 735-5571.
